Ziff Tannen was the grandson of Griff Tannen. His favorite magazine was Saboteur's Weekly. He sabotaged Marta McFly's spaceship in 2091 but was foiled when Jules and Verne Brown intervened. He was thrown in jail immediately, much to Griff's disgust, as Ziff was put in the cell next to the 95 year old career felon.

Ziff was shown to have a persecution complex, as he cited that the McFly's were always kicking around the Tannens as his motivation.

Ziff's mixed metaphor was "I'm going to make like a banana and skedaddle" which is suppose to be "I'm going to make like a banana and spit".
