Sycamore Street was a street in Hill Valley. George McFly's house was located on it, "near 2nd".^[1] It was close to downtown and ran north to south. As George pedalled his bike away from Lou's Cafe, he went west, and Marty chased after him. Marty lost track of George, but located George's bike, leaning against a tree overhanging the street.

The homes along the street were built in the 1920s and 1930s. Marty found himself in front of George's house, and debated whether to go in, but was worried that his "Granny", Sylvia McFly, would be frightened. Marty then noticed that George was perched 20 feet up on one of the large branches of the tree, watching a house across the street through a pair of binoculars. ^[2] Marty did not recognize the other house, but it turned out to be the 1955 Baines residence.
