Starlighters bass player
One member of the Starlighters was a jazz bassist. He played the upright bass (also known as a bass fiddle or a double bass) at the Enchantment Under the Sea dance. He played along with Marty McFly during "Earth Angel" and "Johnny B. Goode". During the latter song, the bassist watched with amusement as Marty played the guitar, but quit as Marty's performance became more erratic.

The bass player was portrayed by Granville "Danny" Young, who plays bass as a jazz musician. Young continues to perform in jazz bands. [1]
