USA Today BTTF2

The Public more gullible than ever news story appears at the bottom right-hand corner of the front page of the October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today.

The Sam Houston Institute of Technology was an organization in 2015.

History[]

The institute carried out a study which concluded that the public were easily fooled by bogus news stories and made-up research from fictional institutions.

As part of this investigation, Chad Stern was required to show 5200 people of all age groups were shown an issue of USA Today full of fictional news articles and studies.

The institute's findings were reported in the story Public more gullible than ever by Travis Pietsch, which appeared on the front cover of the October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

  • Public more gullible than ever was in fact a meta article notifying uninformed readers of the fictional nature of the special "front page wrap" for the real life October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today.
  • The acronym of the Sam Houston Institute of Technology has not been given here on the grounds of taste.
