Rolls-Royce was a manufacturer of high luxury automobiles.

In the original timeline, on October 27, 1985, while Marty McFly was racing Needles in his Toyota Hilux, he slammed into a Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III and injured his hand, preventing him from ever playing the guitar again. The owner of the Rolls-Royce also sued Marty for the damage to his vehicle, leaving his life in financial ruin.

When Marty returned from 1885, he and Jennifer Parker encountered Needles at the very spot he would crash his truck. However, at the last second, Marty put the truck in reverse and witnessed the Rolls-Royce nearly hit Needles's truck. It was at this moment that Jennifer saw the words "YOU'RE FIRED!!!" disappear from Ito T. Fujitsu's fax to Marty, a copy of which she had taken from the McFly residence in 2015. The dismal events of Marty's future were averted.
