According to the ad, which was accompanied by a picture of the car, the DeLorean needed some suspension work, shocks, brakes, brake pads, steering, transmission and muffler, but was fitted with new tires. It cost $4800 OBO.
Having left a message for Robert to call him back, Emmett Brown received a telephone call from him sometime during September, during which Doc informed Robert that he was very interested in the DeLorean, money wouldn't be a problem, and also made arrangements to have a look at the car. Doc subsequently went on to purchase the DeLorean, which he used to create his DeLorean time machine the following year.
