Reliable Radio was a store in Pasadena, California that sold radios in 1943.

In 1943, Mrs. Gomez rented an apartment to Emmett Brown, who was a professor at the California Institute of Technology. Doc convinced Robert Millikan, the president of Caltech, to arrange an interview with Major General Leslie Groves and Vannevar Bush. They were searching for scientists to join the top secret Manhattan Project, which developed the atomic bomb. He had a disastrous interview, and walked past Reliable Radio to try to think about how he could get a second chance. To his surprise, he was given a position on the project.
