The Oceanic Institute was an educational institution in which students could interact with the ocean and the creatures that inhabit it, in their studies of marine biology.

In 1931, Jacques Douteux was a famous diver who worked for the institute.

  • There is a real-life Oceanic Institute in Hawaii, although it didn't open until 1960.
