Mr. Friedman was a banker with whom Doc Brown arranged to sign a contract in order to keep the Institute of Future Technology open. However, as Brown prepared to sign Friedman's contract, Friedman was accidentally run over and killed by Professor Frink with a DeLorean time machine. Doc was forced to sell the institute to Krusty the Clown, who turned it into Krustyland, due to Friedman's death.
