Michael Peter Balzary (born October 16, 1962, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia), better known by his stage name Flea, is the bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and also pursues a minor acting career.

Balzary played the role of Douglas J. Needles in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III, being billed in the closing credits on both occasions as Flea.

As with castmates Elisabeth Shue, Michael J. Fox and Thomas F. Wilson, Flea wore aged makeup in Part II in order to appear as a middle-aged Needles in 2015.

Balzary, along with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, voiced themselves in The Simpsons Season 4 finale "Krusty" Gets Kancelled", which included Simpsons regular Dan Castellaneta.

Flea also voiced the feral Donnie Thornberry — whose dialogue consisted of wild babbling, animal sounds and the occasional spout of bits of English — for Nickelodeon's animated television show The Wild Thornberrys (1998-2004), as well as for the movie spinoff The Wild Thornberrys Movie (2002).
