Melora Hardin was the second choice to play Jennifer Parker in Back to the Future. She was chosen when Claudia Wells became temporarily unavailable to shoot, however before any scenes were filmed with her, Eric Stoltz was let go. Since she would have then stood taller than Michael J. Fox, she was also let go. Wells had a second opportunity to grab the role.
