The Master-cook was a wall-mounted kitchen device with a visual display and mechanical arms, possibly used for displaying recipes and assisting with cooking.
- While a device like this has yet to become common place, tablet computers can run apps or digital books to display recipes, use touch-screen displays instead of buttons, and are more portable. They cannot, however, assist with any preparation or cooking of ingredients.
- In May 2015, a smartphone-controlled robot chef containing 24 motors, 26 micro-controllers and 129 sensors was unveiled at a robotic technology fair. The inventors claimed that owners would still have to lay out the required ingredients, but the Robot Master Chef would be able to prepare, cook, clean up and wash the dishes.
