Krusty the Clown (also known as Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky) is a longtime character in the animated sitcom, The Simpsons.
He stars as the clown host of the show within the series The Krusty the Clown Show and is the owner of Krustyland.
History
In 2006, Dr. Emmett Brown was going to sign a contract to keep the Institute of Future Technology open for a longer period of time, only for his banker Mr. Friedman to be ran over by a DeLorean time machine driven by Professor Frink.
Emmett was left with the option of having to sell the Institute to Krusty the Clown.
Krusty arrived immediately after to take the Institute and converted it into Krustyland. He placed Doc in charge of tearing tickets at the front gate, and told him to get a haircut.
Behind the scenes
Krusty the Clown is voiced by actor Dan Castellaneta, who voices several other characters on The Simpsons, as well as Homer Simpson.
