- 1931, Sunday: The Hill Valley Telegraph mentions the death of Carl Sagan (really a time traveling Doctor Emmett Brown) who was murdered by Kid Tannen's gang.
- Upon his changing of the events, Marty McFly discovers that he no longer exists as Kid's new victim is Arthur McFly. Marty goes back to save and bring him back to this day. After telling his grandfather to keep away from Kid, he and Doc return to 1986 on May 15.
