Huey Lewis and the News are an American rock band that was founded in 1979. They enjoyed mainstream success primarily in the 1980s. Through the years their formation changed a bit. The original lineup of the band consisted of Huey Lewis (Vocals, Harmonica), Sean Hopper (Keyboards), Bill Gibson (Drums), Johnny Colla (Guitar, Saxophone), Mario Cipollina (Bass) and Chris Hayes (Guitar). They were one of Marty McFly's favorite bands.

Behind the scenesEdit

They contributed the songs "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" to the soundtrack of the first Back to the Future film. Lead singer Huey Lewis also makes a cameo appearence as one of the judges at the Battle of the Bands were The Pinheads auditioned for at the beginning of Back to the Future.
