Frank Nitti (January 27, 1886 - March 19, 1943) was one of Al Capone's top henchmen, and later became the head of the Chicago Mafia.
Even though he's best known as Frank Nitti, the only people who ever referred to him as Nitti or Nitty were the police, media, and fringe mobsters. He always used his birth name, Frank Nitto.
In 1926, someone carved the name Frank Nitty on a police officer's desk in Chicago.
