Old Mac Tannen was a farmer encountered by Verne Brown and Chris in 1933.

Mac Tannen owned the land that the Bob Brothers All-Star International Circus had failed to pay rent on to him and threatened to take over the circus from the Bob Brothers.
The name is clearly a play on the children's song "Old McDonald Had a Farm".
