The Confederate States of America, also known as the Confederacy, was a government formed by seven southern states that seceded from the United States of America in 1861. After the American Civil War began in April between the Confederate States of America and the Union Army, four more states joined the Confederacy. The war lacked a formal end, but all Confederate forces surrendered or disbanded by 1865.
When he traveled back to November 12, 1955, Doc Brown had several bills of Confederate currency in his money suitcase.
One of the battles of the Civil War included the Battle of Chattanooga, where the Confederate forces, led by General Beauregard Tannen, went into battle against the Union forces, led by Ulysses S. Clayton. After Jules Brown, Verne Brown, and Marty McFly intervened, brothers, cousins, and others on both sides of the war reconciled, forming a truce, changing history to never show the battle as ever occurring.
