Behind the Scenes
Although real-world biographies refer to Ruth's birthday as being February 6, 1895, it's not out of the question that baseball player George Herman Ruth was born the next day in the Back to the Future universe. Doc's knowledge of the date would have been drawn from a book in the pre-Internet days of 1991, and the ripple effect would have changed the record as well. Doc lived with his family for ten years in the 19th century, until 1895, when he built the time train, and his very presence would have created slight alterations in the timeline, in a "butterfly effect" manner.
