In 2015, Griff Tannen owned a heavily modified hover-converted version of the car, which was a convertible orange and black model waxed for him (two coats, naturally) by his grandfather Biff Tannen, and in which Whitey, Data and Spike traveled with him as passengers.
Behind the scenes
- In the novelization by Craig Shaw Gardner, Griff's car is described as being "a beat-up old convertible" (quote, page 32), rather than the perfect, futuristic-looking BMW seen on-screen.
- Anyone expecting to see in 2015 a futuristic, flying BMW of the make and model featured in Back to the Future Part II is going to be disappointed, as the BMW 633CSi is no longer being produced.
- As far as is known, BMW have no plans to produce a flying model in the foreseeable future.
