Arthur Schmidt (born in June 17, 1937 in Los Angeles, California) is an American two time Academy Award-winner film editor. Schmidt, with Harry Keramidas, edited all the installments in the Back to the Future trilogy.


Schmidt is the son of Arthur P. Schmidt, a distinguished film editor. Schmidt won an Academy Award for Best Film Editing for Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Forrest Gump. Both of these films were directed by Robert Zemeckis. Schmidt and Harry Keramidas were nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Editing for their work on Back to the Future.
